Solar Europe Now – A joint call to recognise solar as a key driver in delivering the Green Deal’s ambitions
PVthin is proud to join “Solar Europe Now”, a joint intitiative with over 100 stakeholders from 15 countries across the European solar value chain. The newly formed initiative calls for the recognition of solar power as a key driver in delivery EU’s Green Deal ambitions.
Photovoltaics currently provide for 3% of the total EU electricity demand, with an estimated potential of 15% by 2030. Despite this, the current lack of financial and R&D support will impede the development of PV in Europe and limit the EU’s effectiveness in hitting its climate goals as outlined in the new European Green Deal.
Solar Europe Now is committed in assisting the EU institutions hit their 2050 climate neutrality objective and ensuring Europe remains a decarbonisation leader.
